The company was founded in the Netherlands in 1998 and now operates 53 state of the art facilities across Europe. Interxion is the interconnection hub for the world’s leading businesses. Interxion recently combined with Digital Realty Trust Inc. (NYSE: DLR). Digital Realty is an International data center provider headquartered in San Francisco with more than 210 data centers across the globe. The combined companies enable them to provide clients with the full spectrum of global data center requirements whereby Interxion continues their focus on the EMEA market. Interxion’s datacenters are located in 13 major European cities, including Dublin, London, Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam and Madrid. The data centers are gateways to emerging markets and landing stations for major continental subsea cables.
The company has a strong growth strategy as a result of an increased reliance on technology and the infrastructure it runs on. In order to accommodate the growth of the company, Interxion is currently looking for a legal counsel to support their legal department. The legal department in The Netherlands consists of 9 legal professionals who either work in the corporate or commercial legal team. The commercial legal team, reporting to the VP Legal, is now looking for a new colleague focusing on real estate and construction projects.
Legal Counsel Real Estate and Construction
As part of the legal team the Legal Counsel Real Estate and Construction will work in cooperation with both the Senior Legal Counsel as well as independently on multiple (inter)national complex real estate transactions. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiation several (multiparty) contracts, safeguarding and implementing adequate legal standard and legally guiding business within InterXion in EMEA. You are actively involved in the full chain of a transaction, including sale and/or purchase of real estate, construction, leasing etc. You serve the organization by pro-actively providing high quality yet pragmatic legal guidance. When needed you ensure that adequate external legal support is involved timely and efficiently.
In general the Legal Counsel should have extensive knowledge in general (inter)national commercial contracting combined with:
- Dutch qualified lawyer or legal counsel with at least 4 yrs PQE, preferably in an international corporate environment;
- Proven knowledge of Real Estate law and Construction law;
- Ability to prioritize and deliver results within agreed timelines;
- Exercise mature and reliable judgment, provide creative solutions to challenging problems;
- Affinity and/or interest in working within project teams in a technical environment;
- Open to dealing with other cultures and willingness to travel occasionally;
- Flexible, enthusiastic, decisive, hands-on with the ability to work in a result-oriented manner;
- Fluent command of English and preferably Dutch.
