For Cargill’s Human Resources Solutions Market Team in The Netherlands, Schiphol, we seek to recruit an Employment & Labor Law Specialist.


The Employment & Labor Law Specialist will be accountable for the execution and delivery of legal and regulatory compliance with local labor law and company policies and procedures and company based employee relations services. You will be accountable for conflict resolutions, workplace issues, termination proceedings, questions from employees and managers, industrial relations support and employee relations based investigations.

More detailed, you will be responsible for:

  • providing general employment law advice on a broad range of topics to the business and employees – including but not limited to issue resolution, disciplinary meetings, performance management, policy drafting, documents and agreements, investigations, employee consultation requirements, social consequences of restructuring, and high-level employee dismissals;
  • providing thought leadership with respect to key changes in employment and labor law impacting the Netherlands and also responsible for implementation of these changes in company processes;
  • providing training on various employment and labor topics impacting Cargill;
  • proactively raising opportunities and solutions to improve HR delivery model on labor law related issues;
  • managing/optimizing external legal and advise services and spend.
  • you are a Dutch qualified lawyer with relevant experience in The Netherlands, including at least three years of Legal experience in employment and labor law;
  • demonstrated ability to develop strong and productive working relationships and partnerships with HR partners, business managers, and legal colleagues;
  • ability to work with diverse and multi-faceted teams in meeting corporate goals and initiatives, with proven ability to influence, effect and manage change;
  • curiosity and willingness to partner with colleagues and to support a host of businesses and functions;
  • aptitude to identify issues and drive and implement (process) improvements;
  • excellent communication skills and advocacy in Dutch and English (spoken and written);
  • strong organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to handle, prioritize, and follow through on numerous projects simultaneously.
