Privacy and data protection are crucial elements in the development of products and services. A team of privacy experts, both privacy legal counsel and privacy officers, work in close connection with Philips’ lawyers, business partners and outside counsel, to ensure Philips products and (new) services do comply.
Currently Philips is looking for a (Senior) Privacy Legal Counsel to join the Legal Team based in Amsterdam.
As a Senior Privacy Legal Counsel you will work as an expert lawyer on all matters related to the internal and external data protection policies and legislation as well as other data protection regulatory matters. You will support Philips businesses and functions, guide Legal Counsel within Philips in their role to support business, functions and markets in their daily business. Last but not least you will be representing Philips in its privacy positions in public affairs.
To succeed in this role you are a qualified, passionate, seasoned privacy lawyer with 7-10 years working experience gained in private practice and/or as in-house legal counsel in an international environment within the field of privacy. and security. Experience with health-data is considered a plus.
You do have extensive and proven experience working with data protection law in general and GDPR in particular, knowledge of IT law and/or security is a pre. Furthermore you have the ability to independently analyze complex data protection matters and take rational and bold decisions under time pressure. Of course you have contract drafting and negotiating skills and are fluent in English and preferably one other language.
