What do you focus on at Voxius?

My focus is primarily on corporate legal roles, both for permanent positions and interim assignments. I like to look beyond the immediate staffing need. What does a team actually need, what kind of experience fits that need, and which person can quickly add value within that context? By listening carefully, asking the right questions, and—perhaps most importantly—asking the question behind the question, we can achieve great results together.

What did you do before you started working at Voxius?

During my studies, I worked as a paralegal/librarian at a large law firm, which I thoroughly enjoyed. That’s when I came across YER, and that’s where my career in recruitment began. My focus there was on IT. It turned out to be a good choice—the world of executive search. I wanted to continue in this field, but specifically for the legal sector. So I made the switch to Legal Flexforce. As a native of Rotterdam, I was given the opportunity to work at Voxius, which was then still located in the beautiful Groothandels Gebouw in Rotterdam. Now, more than 20 years later, I still thoroughly enjoy it.

What part of your job gives you the most energy?

Working together to achieve something—that’s what energizes me. By having open and honest conversations with clients and candidates, we learn from each other and gain a better understanding of what each person needs to feel valued and to experience that value. I hope my natural curiosity helps me in that regard. That leads to great, lasting matches. Being a connector—that’s what makes me happy. Professionally, of course, but certainly in my own life as well.

What do you do in your free time besides your work at Voxius?

Every day starts with a lovely walk in the woods with our faithful, sweet Labrador. I can’t imagine a better way to start my day. Out in nature, enjoying all the beauty around me, but also thinking ahead to what the day will bring. I love having family and friends around me. Here in the Brabant countryside, I love inviting them over for a delicious meal. I’m quite the cook, if I do say so myself… and I do it with a lot of joy and love. We have a cooking club with a large group of friends. In the fall, we travel to a beautiful château in France to spend four days cooking. Tennis in the summer months and skiing in the winter. In between, a run through the woods. When traveling, we like to find a place where the sun, sea, beach, and mountains all come together. And a book—lots of books. I read at least one or two books every week. For relaxation, but mainly to understand. And that, in turn, allows me to ask new questions, which lead to yet another book.
