What do you focus on at Voxius?

At Voxius, I focus on executive search (permanent and interim) for legal positions—including those with ultimate responsibility—within the legal profession, the business sector, and the notarial profession. My background as an attorney, legal counsel, and Resource & Development Manager at Clifford Chance gives me a keen insight into what’s happening at that level. I also bring a solid foundation in legal operations, a field in which I taught at the Legal Operations Academy from 2020 to 2024.

What did you do before you started working at Voxius?

After graduating in 2001, I began working at Brabers & Partners as a strategic legal advisor. In 2005, I made the transition to the legal profession and worked at AKD in Eindhoven, within the Corporate Law practice group. Just before joining Voxius, I gained some experience as an in-house counsel, working at Alliance Healthcare. Between 2017 and 2019, I worked as a Resource & Development Manager at Clifford Chance in Amsterdam. I eventually returned to Voxius in 2019.

What part of your job gives you the most energy?

I get the most energy from connecting with professionals. Understanding what’s really going on, providing transparency about the process, and getting to know the person behind the resume—rather than just focusing on the technical aspects of a role or a candidate’s qualifications. In short, looking beyond what’s on paper, but having the courage to ask follow-up questions and offer advice. Every assignment is a new puzzle where the challenge is to fit the pieces into the right places—and that’s only possible by engaging in and maintaining transparent and honest dialogue with one another.

What do you do in your free time besides your work at Voxius?

In addition to my work at Voxius, I have been a very active volunteer at the Leidsche and Oegstgeester Hockey Club for many years and have held various positions there, including board roles. I also played hockey myself for many years, but injuries forced me to stop. So this is a wonderful way for me to stay involved with my passion for the sport.

Being able to balance my work at Voxius with my volunteer work is rewarding, but it also helps me build on my expertise. The way a team of volunteers—or a top-tier hockey team—interacts by providing direction, holding each other accountable, and working together toward a common goal isn’t all that different from what I do every day at Voxius.
