The Position

TOPdesk is strengthening its privacy and compliance function at a pivotal moment in its development. As Compliance & Privacy Specialist, you will play a key role in analysing, structuring and guiding the organisation’s approach to privacy and compliance in an international SaaS context. This is a broad role with an approximately 50/50 focus on privacy and compliance, centred on governance, analysis and advisory work. Rather than stepping into a fully mature framework, you will help define priorities, establish direction and support decision‑making at senior level. You will be involved early in discussions around product development, data flows, governance and future growth initiatives, including potential M&A activity. The role reports directly to the VP Legal and works closely with Legal and Sustainability, with regular exposure to senior stakeholders across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Acting as subject matter expert for privacy, including performing the role of Data Protection Officer (DPO)
• Assessing the current privacy and compliance maturity and defining clear priorities and roadmaps
• Advising on data processing activities, data flows and privacy‑by‑design, in cooperation with business teams
• Developing and structuring compliance frameworks and policies (including ABAC, fraud prevention and ethics)
• Conducting risk assessments and DPIAs, translating outcomes into pragmatic guidance
• Supporting governance requirements in an international and private‑equity context, including preparation for future scaling and acquisitions
• Raising awareness through guidance and training, embedding compliance into daily business
• Supporting international activities, including markets such as Germany, the US and Brazil

The Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law
• Several years of relevant experience in privacy and/or compliance (law firm or in‑house)
• Strong analytical skills, able to translate regulatory requirements into workable structures
• Interest in governance, risk management, fraud prevention and ABAC, particularly in regulated or public‑sector contexts
• Comfortable operating in an environment where structures are still evolving
• Able to work cross-functionally without requiring a technical or IT background
• Clear, professional communicator
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus
