Euronext’s registered office is located in Amsterdam, where the Legal & Regulatory team works from the historic exchange building at Beursplein 5.

The role offers considerable freedom and responsibility
The Position
As Legal & Regulatory Counsel, you advise the various business teams and support functions of Euronext Amsterdam and the wider Euronext Group. You work on questions that often have no ready-made answer. This requires you to analyse new legislation and business developments, take a position and translate your legal analysis into clear and workable advice.
You will, among others:
- analyse existing and upcoming legislation and regulation and assess their impact on Euronext’s activities;
- advise the business on new products, services and commercial initiatives;
- draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements;
- contribute to the development and implementation of Euronext’s legal and regulatory framework and policies;
- advise on regulatory matters and, where relevant, engage with local regulators and other external stakeholders;
- contribute to legal and regulatory projects at group level;
- support on broader corporate and company secretarial matters where required.
The role offers considerable freedom and responsibility. You are expected to take ownership of matters, work independently and involve the right colleagues when necessary. You report to the Head of Legal & Regulatory Affairs Netherlands, and work closely with colleagues across Euronext’s international Legal & Regulatory organisation.
You have about 3-8 years’ experience in a multinational company, a financial institution, a law firm, and/or a regulatory environment
The Profile
- Excellent lawyer with strong analytical and drafting skills and a commercial, business-oriented attitude (Dutch legal education is preferred);
- About 3-8 years’ experience in a multinational company, a financial institution, a law firm, and/or a regulatory environment;
- Affinity with financial markets and financial regulation; direct experience in this field is a strong advantage, but not a requirement;
- Ability to quickly understand new legislation, (financial) products and business issues, form a clear legal view and translate this into pragmatic solutions;
- Intelligent, proactive and willing to take ownership, with the confidence to take a position and the curiosity to continue learning;
- Able to operate effectively as part of an international team; and
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in Dutch and English.
