A sole position, close to the business operation, CEO and UBO's
The Position
The Corporate Counsel will serve as the principal legal advisor to the family office, providing strategic and operational support across all aspects of its (investment) activities. The Counsel will work closely with the CEO of the family office, senior management, investment teams, and external advisors to oversee legal and tax affairs, compliance, manage risk, and structure transactions effectively.
The position encompasses advising on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including direct and fund investments, real estate acquisitions, financing arrangements, compliance and corporate governance. The Counsel will also coordinate with external law firms, and tax advisors, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality legal and tax support while maintaining overall control of strategy and execution.
Beyond transactional and advisory work, the Counsel will oversee essential administrative and organizational tasks that ensure the smooth operation of the family office’s legal function. This includes maintaining accurate legal records, managing contract databases, overseeing the filing and renewal of corporate documents, and ensuring proper documentation of board and shareholder resolutions.
In addition to these responsibilities, the Counsel will guide the family office on governance frameworks and the management of confidential information. The Counsel will be expected to identify and mitigate legal risks proactively, implement best practices for compliance, documentation and recordkeeping, and provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on legal and compliance issues. Given the close-knit nature of a family office, the Counsel must balance legal oversight with an understanding of the family office’s values, objectives, and legacy considerations.

The Profile
We are looking for a decisive, hands-on legal professional with a sharp business sense and a collaborative mindset. You thrive in a fast-paced, international environment and enjoy solving diverse legal challenges.
- A master degree in law (LLM or equivalent);
- At least 6-10 years of relevant experience at a law firm, investment company and / or asset manager;
- Solid experience with funds, commercial and corporate contracting is essential;
- Experience with an international business environment is a plus;
- Fluent in English and Dutch.
This role requires a combination of technical legal expertise, business acumen, and discretion.
The ideal candidate will have experience in corporate or private equity law, preferably gained within a top-tier law firm or an in-house role in a similar investment or family office environment. Strong negotiation skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving are essential. Above all, the Corporate Counsel must be trusted to act as a steward of the family office’s interests, ensuring that all decisions are both legally sound and aligned with the overarching vision of the office.
