The Global Corporate Legal Team is assisting Aon shared services, such as Tax, Treasury, Finance Audit and the local legal & compliance teams on a wide range of corporate matters. It is an international team of 17 lawyers and paralegal based in several countries worldwide. Three team members are based in the EMEA Headquarters in Rotterdam.

In the function of Global Corporate Legal Counsel, you will be engaged in worldwide internal restructurings and supporting the Aon teams

The Position

In the function of Global Corporate Legal Counsel, you will be engaged in worldwide internal restructurings and supporting the Aon teams with shareholders/board resolutions, powers of attorney, and the drafting and implementation of governance guidelines. In addition, you are responsible for drafting/reviewing and implementing agreements between members of the Aon network. This involves services, license, loan or other financial agreements, share transfers, contributions, etc.

For the Aon shared services, such as the Tax, Treasury, Finance and Audit teams, you are the central point of contact for corporate matters, and you will be working in close collaboration with these departments.

In this position you will be reporting to the associate General Counsel Corporate based in Rotterdam, who on its turn reports directly to the General Counsel, based in Chicago, USA.

The Profile

  • master degree in (corporate) law combined with at least 7 years of international experience gained in private practice and/or at a multinational company;
  • proven and sound knowledge of corporate law, including (M&A) transactions;
  • substantial (international) contract drafting experience;
  • familiar with corporate structures and corporate restructuring in global settings;
  • experience with corporate secretarial work, board governance, ESG and senior management;
  • knowledge of tax legislation and structures is considered a plus
  • curious and willingness to learn new things!

Solid and open personality with excellent command of English (written and spoken), able to set up and manage projects and work independently as well as within a team, able to liaise with executives at all levels and experience to present and deliver projects to local board (worldwide).

Market conform compensation, working from home is optional with at least 2 days in the Rotterdam office, working from Amsterdam offices, where the global Tax Team is based, is also a possibility should this be more convenient.
