VP Legal – EQT Group

Our Client

In 2021, EQT expanded its footprint in healthcare investing by acquiring Life Science Partners (LSP), a leading European life sciences venture capital firm. LSP, now known as EQT Life Sciences, continues to make impactful investments in innovative healthcare companies.

On behalf of EQT, we are looking for a skilled VP Legal to support the investment team. The VP has no direct reports.

The Position

As VP Legal, you will report to EQT Life Sciences’ General Counsel and collaborate closely with the investment teams. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Investments & Divestments: Oversee due diligence, review investment/divestment documents, and related process management including direct communication with portfolio companies, co-investors, and external legal advisors.
• Legislation Monitoring: Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting our investments.
• Project Involvement: Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives to enhance EQT’s processes and procedures.
• Corporate Governance: Maintain contact with portfolio companies and ensure compliance and proper housekeeping for portfolio companies.

The Profile

• Education: Master’s degree in law.
• Experience: 3-6 years of experience in a law firm, investment management, or similar professional setting.
• Languages: Proficient in English. Dutch is a nice to have.
• Background: Experience in an international environment, especially within private equity, venture capital, or financial services, is a plus.

Success in this role hinges on several key skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills are vital, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities. A commercial mindset and a positive attitude are crucial. Attention to detail, along with energy, enthusiasm, and a commitment to excellence are important qualities.

You should be able to work both independently and as part of a team, meeting deadlines and managing priorities under pressure. Lastly, you will support the company’s values, as outlined in the “Statement of Purpose” on the EQT Group’s website.
